The day began with an 8:30 morning pick-up in Reykjavík before heading out for a private two-hour riding tour. Spending the morning with Icelandic horses was a lovely way to start the adventure.

After the ride, it was time for a taste of the Icelandic nature. Lunch featured traditional favourites including kjötsúpa, Icelandic lamb soup, and plokkfiskur, a fish and potato dish, perfect after a morning outdoors.

The afternoon was dedicated to exploring Reykjanes, one of Iceland’s most dramatic volcanic regions. The route passed the shores of Kleifarvatn and the colourful geothermal landscape at Seltún, before continuing to Grænavatn and the small Krýsuvíkurkirkja church.

From there, the journey continued through Grindavík, including a stop to learn more about volcanic eruptions, before heading farther west to Brimketill, the steaming Gunnuhver geothermal area and Reykjanes Lighthouse.

Then stops at the Stampar crater and the Bridge Between Continents completed a day shaped by lava, geothermal energy and the forces that are continually reshaping Iceland.

And after a full day outside? There was one particularly Icelandic way to finish.
The guests were dropped at Sky Lagoon, where warm geothermal water and views across the North Atlantic offered a relaxing end to their private adventure.

One day, two travellers, and a journey designed just for them, from Icelandic horses to volcanic landscapes, with plenty of nature in between.
Your Iceland, your way
This day was created as a private experience for two, and that’s exactly what we at Íshestar love about our private tours. We can tailor the day around you, whether you like to add horseback riding, a geothermal spa, a special lunch, extra sightseeing stops, or simply spend more time exploring the places that interest you most.
