From there, we continue east past small farms and climb onto a sandbank with sweeping views of the surrounding countryside. The ride then leads us along the dramatic shoreline of Lake Holtsós, where mountain scenery and coastal riding blend into one breathtaking trail.

On clear days, we may even glimpse the Westman Islands offshore and catch sight of the mighty Skógafoss waterfall in the distance, along with the glaciers Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull.
