Wondering what kind of tour you should choose?
Here is a little breakdown on the the difference between our longer tours
We offer multi-day rides all over Iceland during the summer months. The tours vary in length, destination, and nature but all hold promise for an unforgettable experience riding the Icelandic horse through the breathtaking nature of Iceland.
Classic: On these tours, we ride with a herd of loose horses, so it is important that the rider has good balance in faster gaits and is confident in controlling the horse. The rider gets to try many different horses during the tour. Group size ranges from 12 to 18 riders according to the different tours. Reasonable physical condition is needed, especially on our longer highland tours where daily rides can be up to 7-8 hours.
Comfort: We’ve smoothed away some of adventure travel’s rougher edges to enjoy a more relaxed pace of riding and more comfortable accommodation with more privacy and better facilities. There is more flexibility to add activities to the tour and the groups are smaller (appr. 8-12 riders). The riding days are usually not as long as the classic tours, they range from 2-5 hours, depending on the tour. At times, the herd comes along and during some days we only ride with a single horse and explore specific areas that are not accessible when riding with a herd of horses.
Custom: We offer tailor-made tours for individuals and groups. Our facilities, horses, and staff can accommodate smaller and larger groups in exclusive and comfortable settings. Allow us to organize the riding tour of your dreams! Enjoy riding the Icelandic horse in private through stunning nature and relax in the comfort of our exclusive facilities. Choose from unique adventures through the highlands on the oldest trails in Iceland or experience the magical and mysterious Snæfellsnes tour, where you can experience the tölt, which is a gait unique to the Icelandic horse, on the long stretches of silky smooth black and white beaches.
All multi-day rides include pick up and drop off in Reykjavik, accommodation, and full board while on the riding tour.
