This year we are celebrating our 35th anniversary! It was back in 1982 that Einar Bollason, his wife, and two other families founded Íshestar. We have been a leading tour operator ever since. For all those years we have emphasized quality service and safe ride in Icelandic nature. We are also proud to be the industry leader in caretaking of the Icelandic horses. Over the years we have gained so much knowledge and respect for our unique horses. We work actively with MAST (Icelandic Food and Veterinary Authority) and we decided to publish our handbook with our best practices which are available to everybody who wants to know the way of taking care of horses. The handbook is now in Icelandic but it will be translated soon into English.
We are also celebrating our 2017 certificate of excellence from TripAdvisor which honors businesses who consistently receive great traveler reviews on TripAdvisor. We look forward to another successful 35 years of offering our guest the opportunity to ride Icelandic horses in its natural surroundings in Iceland’s unspoiled nature
